What will I gain from going to therapy?
There are a number of ways that people can benefit from therapy. You will have the opportunity to learn different ways to understand and tolerate your feelings. You will get a different perspective on your life and life choices. You may find yourself making changes that you have thought about for years, but not attempted.
How do I know if therapy is working?
Many people come to therapy after years of difficulty. Initially, you may feel worse before feeling better and you may notice slow rather than rapid improvement. Ultimately, you will make changes in your life that allows you to experience more of your innate potential. Therapy, like life is a process.
Can I be “cured”?
This is a difficult question to answer affirmatively. Usually, I do not look at psychic states a “curable” or not “curable”. Often feeling better/relating to your emotional states is a life long process with the continual opportunity for self exploration and growth. In my experience, people get better with healthy relationships. Therapy is one way to explore the relationships in your life.
